As a child Chef Rhonda was coaxed into the kitchen by Grandma Lillie Mae Gaulden and her Mom Peggy Hoffman Gaulden who were the best cooks anywhere and everyone knew it. She tells that her Grandmother and Mom would frequently call for her to get things from the pantry or "fridge".
She soon learned that this was their way of teaching her without telling her that class was in session. She started to pay attention to the ingredients Granny and Mom would put in their favorite dishes, and before long started to learn recipes and history of one of Americas treasures "Soul Food".
Chef Rhonda took some time off to give birth to her Son Major. But her loyal customer longing for that same down-home cooking she then reopened this "Lillie Mae''s House of Soul Food Restaurant" aka "House of Soul Food".
